Jesse and Chris are the original owners and co-founders of The Dog Stop®. They have personally developed all of the policies and procedures that make The Dog Stop® America’s preferred dog care facility.  As dog owners themselves, they were not happy with what was available in terms of dog care. They sought out to develop a dog care concept that was centered around the customer experience and fixed all of the common flaws in the dog care industry. Every policy and procedure was created with the dog owner in mind to maximize customer satisfaction while improving transparency, convenience and value.

Jesse and Chris have lived the life of the store owner, put in the long hours and know exactly what it takes to make a location successful. Likewise, our support staff have all worked every position in a The Dog Stop® store and can use real world  experiences to help guide you on a daily basis. How We Build And Open Stores For Less Than The Competition

People often ask: “How can you build and open stores for so much less than the competition?”

The answer is: We have worked very hard to negotiate substantial discounts with all of our vendors and suppliers. This includes but is not limited to: kennels, interior and exterior fencing, flooring, dog care supplies, building materials, POS software, retail inventory and more.  We pass 100% of these savings along to you, the franchisee. We DO NOT receive any kickbacks or rebates based upon the dollars our franchisees spend.  Our design and construction team works with the existing building or structure to determine to create the ideal layout for your facility. We do not relocated utilities, mechanicals, etc. just to conform to a prototypical design. This equates to substantial savings for our franchisees during the design and construction process.

That allows you to get your location open quickly for the lowest entry costs in the industry.

Our Training Program

Our training program is the most comprehensive and complete in the pet care industry. Are training focuses on all aspects of operations including but not limited to: employee administration, financial administration, advertising, marketing, customer service, retail best practices and of course understanding and caring for dogs.

We spend a lot of time teaching you and your team about the science of dogs. This includes but is not limited to dog behavior, dog psychology and understanding dog body language. All of our canine companions are also trained in canine CPR and first aid. These tools are essential in order to create a safe and fun atmosphere for the dogs.

Location Search / Site Evaluation / Lease Negotiations Assistance

Location continues to be a critical key to success, but so are the terms of the lease and the layout of the building. Our national real estate team has been involved in site selection and lease negotiations for many of the largest retailers in the USA and will help you find the perfect location for your The Dog Stop® business. We are well equipped to assist you in negotiating the business terms of a lease, but still advise you to hire an experienced attorney to deal with legal wording.

How Big Are The Locations?

Our locations are roughly 6,000 – 13,500 square feet for our indoor and outdoor play areas.

What Areas Are Available?

Most prime markets are available.

Design, Construction, And Equipment

We provide you with prototype layouts of your entire facility, from the retail and client reception area to doggie play areas, grooming rooms, bathing rooms and outside play yards.

We have established relationships with the best suppliers of kennels, fencing, flooring, pet care management software (PCMS), and other fixtures/equipment/supplies you will need for your store. We not only help streamline that aspect of the business, but also help you save money in the process.

Extensive Training In Every Aspect Of All Operations

We have comprehensive training manuals that are designed to assist you in every aspect of the business, including but not limited to: site selection and lease negotiations, design and construction, pre-opening procedures, ongoing operations, employee administration, financial administration, marketing and the pet care management software (PCMS) that will track all activities of each dog that becomes a customer.

Grand Opening And Ongoing Visitation

We will be there to guide you through your opening week and then commit to a visitation schedule to offer assistance and to make sure you are operating as smoothly as possible. Of course, we will always be available by phone and email for day to day routine questions and suggestions.

 

Marketing And Advertising

The Dog Stop®  marketing department is dedicated to providing full-time marketing and advertising support for all of our franchisees. In addition to complete brand and website management, our marketing team is here to assist in budgeting, planning, media buying, event planning and implementation, as well as public relations, community relations, and social media management.

The Dog Stop® Pet Care Management Software (PCMS)

Our PCMS is designed to help you track all activities of the store, and functions not only as a database to track client information and activity such as retail sales, bathing and grooming, medical history and client as well as veterinarian contact information, but also acts as a POS reporting center and reservation system. This all in one capacity provides precise information and streamlines capabilities that save time and money.

What Is The Investment?

The total investment to open a The Dog Stop® franchise can range from $259,500 to $675,300 with the biggest variable being the condition of the premises you rent or buy, and the amount of lease hold improvements it needs. In order to protect you and make sure you are adequately capitalized to build and properly operate your store, we require a minimum net worth of $1,000,000 and at least $200,000 in liquidity to secure appropriate financing and get through the ramp up period most new businesses experience.

What Are The Fees?

FRANCHISE FEE

The franchise fee is $49,500 and includes all mentioned support services. As an indication of our appreciation to our veterans, we have a special discount fee exclusively for them. (Veterans and Wounded Warriors).

ROYALTY FEE

Our royalty fee is 6% of gross sales, paid weekly, which are the lowest in this franchise sector. As with everything we do, we are committed to making our franchise partners as successful as possible That is why we have the lowest royalty fees in the dog care industry.

ADVERTISING AND REQUIREMENTS FEE

There is a 2% brand development fee that is payable weekly which goes into a fund dedicated to creating and producing POP materials, outdoor signage as well as local store marketing. All efforts go towards media that will benefit you. The Dog Stop Franchising, LLC does not use any of these funds to promote the sale of franchises.
